Maths

Wednesday 7th July 2021.

LC: to be able to make 3D shapes.

Lets look at this shape.

What kind of shape is the box? How many faces does the box have? What is the 2-D shape of each face?

Write these answers on your whiteboard.

Using this information, have a go at making this shape with your clay!

What happens if you cut the cube in half?

With your ruler, split the shape into two. You can watch your teacher do this first.

Can you describe this new 2D shape to the person sitting next to you?

Working independently, have a go at making these 3D shapes.

It is important that you DO NOT share your clay!

What is the difference between the two shapes?

You can look on seesaw to help you!

If you have finished, you can continue making clay 3D shapes. Take pictures of these and use the markup tool to name the shapes.

As an extra challenge, you can also describe them. laugh
