There are other ways to describe lines.
We can also use the term 'vertical' to describe the lines. Vertical lines are perpendicular to the floor.
Which lines in the picture are perpendicular to the floor? 
Lines AB and DC are parallel to each other, and they are also parallel to the floor.
These lines are called horizontal lines.
Stay seated!
You will be given a weight and some string tied together, called a plumb line. You need to use the plumb line to check for objects in front of you that have vertical lines. You will be working independently.
You can make a list on your whiteboard of objects that have vertical lines and objects that have horizontal lines.
