Mathematics

Read the In Focus question carefully.

What is it asking?

How will you work it out?

We could use the strategy that we learned last week, Partioning the number 12 into 10 and 2 to work out the multplication facts.

10 x 12 = 120

+ 2 x 12 = 24

12 x 12= 144

If you know 6 x 12,  then you could double your answer to make 12 x 12.

Use the multiplication facts that you know.

If you don't know  6 x 12 then you could use your 5 x to work out 5 x 12 = 60

Then add another 12 to make 6 x 12 = 72

Once you have worked this out double your answer to work out 12 x 12.

Use the strategies we have used in the Let's Learn to complete the multiplications below.

Remember to use the timestable knowledge you have already to help you work out the answers.
