Literacy

Supertato by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet

Yesterday we looked at the first page of the book and noticed some strange things in the supermarket. Lollipops looking worried, an open packet of plasters, an unrolled toilet roll and someone had scribbled on the floor. Have a look at the next page!

What can you see?

This is a conveyor belt. You can see it at the supermarket. It moves your shopping along to the till.

What do you think has happened to them? Why has it happened to them? How do you think they are feeling about it? Use the sentence start “I think...” to talk about your ideas with a grown up.

Which words might you use to describe how they are feeling?

sad

unhappy

cross

angry

furious

scared

upset

distressed

alarmed

Pretend you are one of the vegetables and tell a grown up how you are feeling and why. If you are at home get a grown up to help you write your sentence in your home learning book.

Listen to cucumber’s sentence.
