LC: To carry out research and collect and record notes

Today, I would like you to carry out some research into what life was like as an African slave in the plantations. Plantations are where slaves were sent to work - picking cotton, harvesting tobacco and so on. They endured horrendous conditions and were treated very harshly by their owners.

Tomorrow, you are going to be writing a short diary entry which details the difficult life of an African slave working on a cotton plantation in the USA.

Today, you can record your notes in your Home Learning book. Please make sure that you do this as you will need your notes for tomorrow's lesson.

I have added some links below to get you started. You might also want to have a look on the internet for your own information.
