Expanded noun phrases
You did such a good job with adjectives yesterday! Today we are going to use them to describe nouns, just like they are supposed to.
When we join several words together without a verb, we make a phrase. If this phrase contains a noun, it's known as a noun phrase.
This is an example of a simple noun phrase- mother is the noun.
Here we have expanded the noun phrase by using an adjective- red. We could expand it even further by saying:
The red house with a blue door.
