Geography

Listen carefully

Last week, we reminded ourselves which direction was LEFT and which was RIGHT. We navigated (moved) Katie Morag around the Isle of Struay following a simple set of instructions just like we had done in Maths the week before.

Today we are going to build on that knowledge and include some words linked to Geography.

Here is a compass:

This is used to show people which direction they are travelling. Here are the directions on the compass:

NORTH (N) EAST (E) SOUTH (S) and WEST (W)

There are other directions, but you will learn about those when you are a little older.

Instructions

Now it's your turn to direct Katie Morag around the island following a simple set of instructions using compass directions.

  • 3 steps West
  • 3 steps South
  • 4 steps East

When you have finished, hand in your work and email your teacher the answer where she arrives this time.
