LC: To use similes, metaphors and personification to create imagery

Yesterday, we looked at the how Alfred Noyes used certain skills in the writing of The Highwayman to create imagery for the reader. This really important when we are trying to describe someone or something as it allows the reader to visualise images in their mind. This can really help with comprehension too.

Have a look at the image below. We are going to try to use metaphors, similes or personification to describe it in an interesting way. We are trying to create imagery in our descriptions.

Let's have a look at the following image together.

Now go to Seesaw (Creating Imagery) and have a go at writing some really interesting sentences of your own to describe each of the images. Remember, you can do this by using a metaphor, simile or personification in your writing.
