LC: To identify and understand writers' techniques to inform the reader
In today's lesson we are going to begin our class novel for this half term. Firstly, we will read the introduction - this is not part of the story but gives us some interesting information about crime/mystery fiction and provides hints to the story. It tells us what it takes to be an effective mystery writer; things that we can add to our Learning Wall.
Next we are going to read Chapter One. After we have read it, you will need to go back through it and think about the techniques that the author has used.
