English

LC to identify verbs

Today we are reading a poem written by

Roald Dahl.

Read the poem, with expression.

Then listen to the poem read by Mrs Metcalfe.

Did you remember to use expression?

Did you pause at the commas and stop at the

full stops, exclamation marks and

question marks?

Now you will need to read the poem again and write down some of the verbs.

The best way to find verbs is by the ways they can be used: they usually have a tense,

either present, past or future.

Verbs are sometimes called ‘doing words’ because many verbs name an action that someone does.

Send a photograph of the verbs to your teacher in an email.

We will be using these verbs tomorrow, so keep them safe!
