Curriculum Overview
Children are given opportunities to learn about their rights and encouraged to understand how to respect them. This is to ensure everyone can enjoy and have access to their rights. We are working hard as a team to fully embed the Articles and Global Goals into the heart of our curriculum subjects. This not only allows the opportunity to teach the rights but also model rights and respects in all its relationships.
At Stoneyholme we want our children to:
Know about their rights and understand how duty bearers (adults) facilitate their rights.
Develop an understanding of the concepts of fairness and equity and articulate how the school promotes such principles and puts them into practice.
Explain how they are actively involved in making decisions about their learning and describe how their participation has a significant impact on school improvement.
Engage in action to campaign and/or advocate for the rights of children locally and globally and to understand their role as global citizens.
Develop an understanding that rights are inherent, inalienable, indivisible, universal and unconditional.
