Art and Science

Listen carefully

Today we are going to join together our learning from Science with Art. We have been looking at different materials and their uses over the last few weeks. Today we are going to use plasticine and clay to make sculptures.

What is a sculpture?

This is a 3D object that has been made by either carving, modelling, casting or constructing.

Do you recognise any of these sculptures?

Your task today is to make a sculpture of a cat out of plasticine and an owl out of the clay. The processes we will be using include bending, twisting, squashing and stretching.
If you are at home, email your teacher with a painting of an owl and pussycat on Purple Mash. You can press PAINT PICTURE when you write an email.
