Silver Primary Science Quality Mark
In May 2018 we were proud to be awarded with a Silver Primary Science Quality Mark.
Primary Science Quality Awards have been awarded to 180 infant, junior, primary, middle and special schools to celebrate a commitment to excellence in science teaching and learning. So far, since its national launch in 2010, almost 2800 schools across the UK have achieved the award.
The Primary School Quality Mark scheme enables schools to work together to share good practice and is supported by professional development led by local experts. It encourages teacher autonomy and innovation while at the same time offering a clear framework for development in science subject leadership, teaching and learning.
Our submission met all the criteria for a PSQM Silver award. The reviewer’s overall comment was very positive about the science at school: “There is clearly some terrific science teaching and learning happening at Stoneyholme. Many congratulations to you all on the achievement of your PSQM Silver award.” Helen Sizer PSQM Development Leader.
In November the award was presented to Mrs Cooney at ceremony in Manchester.
