Stoneyholme have achieved GOLD for the Healthy Schools Rating Scheme.

The healthy schools rating scheme has been designed by the Department for Education to recognise and encourage schools’ contributions to supporting pupils’ health and wellbeing. It celebrates the positive actions that schools are delivering in terms of healthy eating and physical activity, and aims to help schools to identify useful next steps in their provision.

We were assessed by the following key criteria: A. Food education, including in the curriculum and teacher training; B. Compliance with the school food standards; C. The amount of time children spend on PE each week; D. Participation in active travel schemes.

School Games Mark

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels.

The Sainsbury’s School Games is a platform which provides young people with the opportunity to take part in competitive school sport. The Games were designed to build on the excitement of London 2012 to motivate and inspire young people to engage with as much sport as possible. See our achievements below.
