Thousands of years ago, there lived a half man, half god named Hercules. When he was younger, a curse was put on Hercules that forced him to do terrible things. When the curse was finally broken, he wanted to be forgiven for the things that he had done. He was told to visit King Eurystheus who would give him 12 difficult tasks to complete to earn forgiveness.
For the first two tasks, Hercules was asked to defeat the Nemean lion and the Lernaean hydra. These were two powerful beasts that had been terrifying the local people. Next, King Eurystheus challenged him to catch an incredibly fast deer. It took Hercules a whole year to catch the animal but he was eventually successful and asked for the next task.
R - What was Hercules asked to do for the first two weeks?
I - How do you think Hercules felt when he was under the curse? Use evidence from the text.
C - Can you identify effective adjectives in the text?

LC: To test the effects of gravity
To test how gravity works, we will drop four balls of different sizes and weights from the same height. Each ball will be dropped three times to make our test fair. We will use a stopwatch to measure how long it takes each ball to hit the ground. Afterwards, we will compare the times to see what we notice about gravity.
