LC: To make predictions from evidence stated and implied.

What are predictions?

As we read, we naturally make predictions (guesses) about things like what is going to happen next or what does this word mean.

We use clues in what we have already read to make these predictions. These clues are called context.

When you’ve paused the video, answer the question below.

What do you think will happen next?

Write down your prediction.

Challenge:

Now watch to the end of the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight clip.

What do you think will happen next?

Continue the story by writing the next paragraph (about 8 to 10 sentences).

Think about the title of this legend. Who is Sir Gawain and why haven’t we met him yet?

You can watch episode two in the link below to see if your prediction was correct.

LC: To control a circuit using a switch and explain what it does.

Let's recap our learning from last week.

Switches are used to control circuits. Switches can break a circuit by making a space between components where the electricity cannot flow. Switches are used to turn bulbs, buzzers and motors on and off. Different types of switches are used to control many electrical appliances we use everyday.

Where have you used or seen a switch?

Now we know how to make a circuit with a light, we are going to see if we can find ways to turn the light on and off using a switch.

Task

Draw a picture of your circuit with the switch closed.

Does your circuit work?

Why? Why not?

Draw a picture of your circuit with the switch open.

Does your circuit work?

Why? Why not?
