LC: To understand the laws surrounding the use of legal drugs.
Can you remember some of the legal drugs we have discussed?
There are many laws surrounding legal drugs. It's important that we know and understand them.
We take medication to make us feel better, however we need to make sure we are following the law when doing so. Prescription medication means that it must be prescribed (given) by a doctor. How do you know it is prescribed? What might be on the box or bottle?
What sort of information might you find on a box of paracetamol?

As a class, let's circle the people it is safe to take medicine from!

Activity
Cut out the below images and put them under the correct headings.

Grammar

LC: To write expanded noun phrases.
Dear Year 3
Thank you so much for your amazing menus. I am sure that every spider in town will want to eat at our restaurant when they see what we are offering! However, we would still like a few more ideas. In your classes, share the menus you created with each other. Maybe you could add a few of someone else's ideas to your own. I am really looking forward to seeing what else you can produce and maybe we can keep a few for our Autumn and Winter menus.
Thank you once again.

Shape Hunt
Can you find all the 3D shapes hidden in the classroom?
Once you have found one put it on your desk and sit down.
Who can identify the 3D shapes?
Today we are going to make some 3D shapes using clay!
You will make a 3D shape with a partner. Once you have made each shape, you will need to identify the following:
-
Name of shape
-
Number of faces
-
Number of edges
-
Number of vertices
Activity
Make mini models of the below 3D shapes. Your teacher will show you an example.
Think about how many faces, edges and vertices the shape has when making it!

Ivan was afraid. He was more afraid than he had ever been, for nobody had ever seen Starjik’s land and lived to return home. His head was bowed and he cried a little as he went along, and his tears became pips of ice before they touched the snow. He was afraid and sometimes he almost turned around, to follow his footprints back to his father’s house. But then he would see in his mind a picture of his brother, holding out his arms and crying, in a place that was cold beyond imagining. And then Ivan would brush away his tears and go on.
R - What part of the text tells us that Ivan won't give up trying to find his brother?
I - Ivan is feeling sad but he must be feeling another emotion to to keep on going, what emotion might that be?
C - Why has the author used the words "pips of ice" to describe Ivan's tears?
LC: Listen and prepare play scripts to read aloud and perform.
Yesterday, you were given short phrases to practice saying with different emotions.
Can you try and say "The house is empty" using the following emotions?
Angrily
Happily
Frustratedly
Sluggishly
Excitedly
Scared
Evil
Let's see how we got on from practicing The Little Red Riding Hood script with your partners...
Take five to eight minutes to have a run through the script with your partners again and get ready to perform to the rest of the class.
The audience need to provide you with some feedback.
The audience need to think about one positive element of the play and one area for improvement.
