Wednesday
To be able to apply knowledge of money to solve problems.
Today we are going to explore mind challenge.
Let’s explore.

Show your working out and explain your answers in your yellow maths jotter.
Your teacher will leave the challenge for you to refer back to.
Today, we are going to look at posters about different experiences you can have on days out.
What is the purpose?
What is the reason for the poster? Is it to entertain, to share information, to warn or advise you or to explain how something happens?
Who is the audience?
Is it meant for one person? Does it have an individual's name on like an email or a text message or is it for anybody to read? Do you think it is aimed at children or adults?
Let's take a look at one together.

Now we know the purpose of these posters are to persuade us to visit the attractions. Their audience is families, especially with young children.
Let's take a closer look at what features they use to persuade.

Is it appealing to read? In what way?
Why do you think they have chosen those colours?
What language have they used to persuade you as a reader to visit the circus?
Why have they used different fonts and sizes?
What stands out the most?
Look at our examples in class and see how they are similar or if we can find any other features these authors have used to try and persuade us to visit their attraction.

Can you reflect on how people may show commitment?
We have been learning about how Muslims show their obedience and commitment to Allah.
Talk partner - Do you show your obedience to God? If so, how?

We know that when people have shared interests and values, they belong to a community of like-minded people.
Is being part of a community the same for everyone?
What would happen if someone in the community to which you belong, or the team for which you play, didn't show the same commitment?
Talk partner - What really matters in my life and how do I show commitment?
I believe what matter in my life is...becuase...
