Activity time

 

To know how to demonstrate an understanding of the text by answering questions.

We will use the skills we have learned through our Guided Reading lessons to look for the instructions in the question.

 

bold writing- this is important and it tells us what is needed in the answer.

If the question asks for 'the word' then the answer should only be one word. We do not need to copy an entire sentence.

Talk to your partner about what has happened in Chapter 1. 

Who is Plop talking to at the beginning of the chapter?

Where are they when they are talking?

Does Plop stay in his nest-hole?

Who does he meet?

What do they talk about?

What happens at the end of the chapter?

Can you reflect on why it is important to spend quality time with people who matter to us?

Who matters to you? Your parents, friends, teachers, siblings?

 

My mum is special to me because she cares for me. It is important to spend quality time with my mum because we get to bond and have fun. 
 

Things to do with the people that matter to you:

  • Read a book
  • Watch a movie
