              1. Friday

To be able to read and interpret a picture graph with a scale of 1:2

                Let's explore

                Let's learn

Turn to page 181 and 182.

To make predictions based on what has been read so far.

To demonstrate an understanding of the story using drama techniques.

Today we are going to read the next chapter our our book, which is called DARK IS KIND.

Talk to your partner about what you think might happen.

Will Plop stay in his nest-hole?

Will he meet a new character?

Will he find things out that he can tell mum and dad?

How will he feel at the end of the chapter?

Now your teacher will model how to use role play to have a conversation between Mummy Owl and Plop using language from the book, then it's your turn to work in pairs.

Can you make your vehicle against the design criteria?

Today we are going to make our way to the Steam hub to make our VEHICLES.

Watch the video below. The video reminds you that we are making a vehicle for speed!

                Tongue Fu Talking

show I am listening by responding to what somebody says, e.g. “That sounds fun! What happened next?

Oracy is all about talking and listening. It means being able to:

                • Say what you think clearly

                • Listen to others properly

                • Ask questions and answer them

                • Work with friends by talking and sharing ideas

Remember we want to go from being a white belt Tongue Fu Master to a Green belt!

We are going to work with a partner to practice taking part in a conversation. In a conversation we need to ask questions, about what we have listened to, to keep the conversation going.

I went to the zoo yesterday.
Really? What animals did you see?

                Partner 1

What's your favourite game to play?

                Partner 2

Why do you like that? Who do you play the game with? How do you play the game?

Remember you are going to ask questions to understand not to interrupt.
