Let's explore

Activity Time
To plan and discuss what to write about.
To know how to organise notes using subheadings.
It's your turn to research your own bird to write an invented non-chronological report.
First, you need to look through the information books to choose your own bird.
Did you know that birds are evolved from dinosaurs? All birds lay eggs and they can look very different. They all have beaks, feathers, two legs and two wings. Most even have special feathers on their wings, so they can fly. Those birds that don't fly, have other ways to get around.

Can we use our research skills to place people and events onto a timeline, using the vocabulary of passing time?
Today we are going to complete a timeline about all the different explorers we have learned about.
- Ibn Battuta
- Neil Armstrong
- Amelia Earhart
- Tim Peake
- Sir Robert Falcon Scott
Each table has a different explorer to look at. On post-it-notes you will write when the explorer was born, when they died and where they went. Then, we will add our information to a timeline.
