Friday

To deepen the understanding of the place value of each digit in 2-digit numbers using number bonds.

Let's try the guided practice together.

Turn to page 9 and 10.

How can we construct 3D forms using natural materials?

What is sculpture?

To help us answer this question, we need to use vocabulary that sculptors use when they work.

Sculptor - a person who creates sculptures

Sculpture - a 3D form of art that can be seen from all sides.

3D (dimensional) - something that has length, width and depth (not a picture drawn on a flat page)

Form - the visible shape of something

You might remember that we use 2D and 3D when we learn about shape in Maths.

We are going to collect some natural materials to create our own sculptures.

We are going to make sculptures like these. It is up to you which animal you make.

Can you explain how to resolve arguments with your friends?

Sometimes, friends argue. That’s okay! It happens to everyone. But it’s important to fix things and be kind again. Here's how you can do that:

🌟 1. Stay Calm

  • Take a deep breath.

  • Don’t shout or say mean things.

  • Walk away for a little while if you need to.

🗣️ 2. Talk and Listen

  • Use kind words.

  • Say how you feel.
👉 “I felt sad when you didn’t let me play.”

  • Let your friend talk too.

  • Listen carefully and don’t interrupt.

🤝 3. Say Sorry

  • If you did something wrong, say “Sorry”.

  • Try to mean it – a real sorry helps a lot!

  • Your friend might say sorry too.

🧠 4. Find a Way to Fix It

  • Ask: “What can we do to make it better?”

  • Share, take turns, or make a new plan together.

  • Sometimes, you both need to give a little.

❤️ 5. Be Friends Again

  • Shake hands, give a smile, or play together.

  • Friends forgive each other.

  • Remember: It’s okay to make mistakes, but it’s great to make up!

We are going to role-play a small argument (e.g. about a toy or game), then act out how to solve it using these steps.

To know how to use specific text type features for purpose- to instruct.

Your teachers are going to continue to model how to use the notes we made to finish writing a clear set of instructions, then it is your turn to finish them too.

The features we will include are:

  • imperative verbs
  • short sentences
  • adverbs

Capital letters and Full Stops!!!
