Session

Here is a message from our train:

Hello Year One,

I'm feeling very sad today

because you all have lots of

friends. Please could you help me find some friends of my own?

Oh no!

What kind of trains could we get to be friends with our train?

Let's watch this train song video to see if it can give us any ideas - The Runaway Train Sing-a-long

Now let's read the next part of the story to see if that has information to help our train.

Teacher to read through the book.

Next practise saying these instructions for how to trap a train.

  1. First of all get up really early in the morning and eat your breakfast.
  2. Next, hide behind a rock and wait patiently.
  3. Then, keep waiting until the train comes along.
  4. After that, watch the train stop/come to a halt at a road works sign. Then capture it in a net.
  5. Finally, shout ‘Got you little train!’

Do you think this will help?

Practise the instructions so that you can remember them and help your train.

Can we identify the similarities and differences between God's forms?

Last week, we learned that Hinduism teaches that there is one God, but that people might understand God in many ways.

What do you remember about the story The Blind Men and the Elephant?

Hindus believe in one supreme God, Brahman.

Brahman is present everywhere and there is a part of Brahman in everyone.

Brahman takes many forms. Especially three forms called the Trimurti.

"Hindus believe that Brahma helps create the world, Vishnu helps look after it, and Shiva helps bring change. Together they are called the Trimurti."
