LC: To infer characters’ feelings, thoughts and motives through a diary entry.

Success Criteria:

  • First Person Perspective: Use "I", "me", "my" to recount events from the character's point of view.
  • Past Tense: Describe events that have already happened using the past tense.
  • Emotions and Feelings: Express thoughts and feelings, including adjectives and adverbs to show how the character is feeling.
  • Paragraphs: Structure the entry into paragraphs to separate different events or ideas.
  • Informal Style: Use conversational language and common phrases.
  • Date and Time: Include the date and time of the entry to set the context.
  • Chronological Order: Tell the story of events as they happened.
  • Sentence Openers: Vary sentence beginnings to create a natural and engaging flow.
  • Emotive Language: Use words that evoke strong emotions in the reader.
  • Description: Provide vivid descriptions to help the reader imagine the scene.
