Thursday

Can we identify the similarities and differences between God's forms?

Last week, we learned that Hinduism teaches that there is one God, but that people might understand God in many ways.

What do you remember about the story?

What do Hindus believe?

Hindus believe in one supreme God, Brahman.

Brahman is present everywhere and there is a part of Brahman in everyone.

Brahman takes many forms. Especially three forms called the Trimurti.

Discuss the symbolism of the objects they carry and wear and how these link to their particular role within the Trimurti.

Brahma- Known as the creator.

Vishnu- Known as the preserver.
Shiva - Known as the destroyer.

Can you identify similarities and differences between the three deities of the Trimurti?

Orally plan and rehearse ideas.

Yesterday we shared different ideas with our talk partner on how to trap a train.

Can you act out the instructions in small groups?

Who will be the train?

Who will be the person trying to trap the train?

Find a partner to act in role with.

Let's draw a new version of the instructions map below.  Which ideas have been chosen?

Example for teacher to follow to create map.

  1. First of all get up really early in the morning and eat your breakfast.
  2. Next, hide behind a rock and wait patiently.
  3. Then, keep waiting until the train comes along.
  4. After that, watch the train stop/come to a halt at a road works sign. Then capture it in a net.
Finally, shout ‘Got you little train!’

Now you are ready to draw your own ideas to innovate your own instructions map.
