How many cakes do we have? 

How many cakes would we have left if 3 of them got eaten? 

 

 8 - 3 = 5

 

 

In the garden, there are 6 new plant pots. On the way to get some flowers to fill them, I tripped and one of them broke. How many do I have left? 

6 - 1 = 5
