Monday

We are going to have a go at being Scientists this week. We are going to find out which pegs are the best and which washing powder is the best.

First the pegs...

 Then the washing powder...

First you will need 3 pieces of dirty fabric. Remember, to be a fair test it has to be the same fabric and the same stain.

Then you need to wash the fabric. Remember, this has to be the same for all the fabric - the same amount of water, the same temperature of water and washed for the same length of time. The only thing that will be different is the washing powder.

How will you know which washing powder works the best?

Today we are going to be subitising to the number 5.

When we subitise we don't need to count how many there are one by one

We can quickly work it out in our brains and say the answer.

Using your tens frame can you make 5?

  • How many can you see?

  • How did you know so quickly?

  • Can you show me 4 in a different way?

  • What do you notice about the dots?”

  • How many more do we need to make 5?
