 Today we are going to be counting out from a large group

Give children a Numicon pieces and a large group of multilink cubes/counters. Ask children to select a Numicon piece and identify the number it represents. Encourage them to count out the matching number of cubes from the large group and place them on the Numicon piece. Model touching each cube as they count.
