As you can see, because we are dividing, the numbers are becoming smaller, which is why you see the numbers moving to the right.

Today, we are going to be dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. 

Have a look at the In focus question below.

What do you think the pictures mean?

How many doughnuts are there in 1 row? a tray? And in 10 trays? Have a closer look at the picture and see if you can count.

If we had 4792 doughnuts, how many groups of a thousand doughnuts could we get?

How many groups of a hundred doughnuts could we get?

Have a look at page 3 below to see if you got this correct.

How many groups of ten doughnuts could we get?
