Fly to the Line Competition with the Royal Air Force

Regional Finals

Linton-on-Ouse

North Yorkshire

Monday 4th June 2018

On Monday 4th June, some children from year 4 and 5 were lucky enough to visit an RAF base at Linton-on-Ouse, near York. Whilst we were there, we took part in the Regional Finals against children from other schools from around the north of England.

The children were able to have a look around the hanger at the base and speak to some of the pilots from the Royal Air Force. They spoke to us about the aeroplanes that they train to fly in, and we even sat in the cockpit!

After, we designed and made our planes for the next round of the competition. We decorated them with the famous RAF roundel.

The children did an amazing job at designing and making the planes and we finished this stage of the competition in second and first place!

We are really looking forward to the next stage, the National Final at RAF Cosford in Wolverhampton on the 27th June!

Take a look at the flyer that organisers have issued for next year’s competition.
